Meet the team
Pete (Mortgage & Protection Adviser)
Pete joined the business in 2005 as a qualified Mortgage & Protection Adviser and worked alongside his Dad, Phil until he retired in 2013.
Phil had a focus on Pensions & Investments and was known in this field as an expert. Pete’s passion though was in property, with a focus on providing first class mortgage & protection advice to an increasing number of clients.
He has been fortunate in his career to develop an excellent reputation which has led to him being recommended by most of his clients to their family & friends.
He puts the client at the centre of the process and takes whatever time is needed to ensure that they fully understand the whole process and all of their options. His passion means that he is always happy to chat to clients about any aspect of mortgages or protection and he is often approached by local estate agents and solicitors to offer his expert advice to help clients they are working with.
He is a perfectionist by nature and always wants the best for his clients and won’t rest until they receive it.
For him the best part of the job is to see the clients return year on year and to see their families grow and develop, with the knowledge that we have helped them along the way.
Away from work he has a love of most sports and has always enjoyed coaching junior teams including football, cricket & hockey. He also supports local schools as a Governor and is currently Chair of Governors at Wirral Grammar School for Boys. He has finally given in to the thought of trying to play sport himself but instead continues to punish himself with our three kids as season ticket holders at Everton!
Cath (Office Manager)
Like Pete, Cath joined the family business in 2005 although her journey in the world of finance started back in 1990. Having worked for the Alliance & Leicester and NWS Bank for 10 years, she took a short career break to become ‘Mum’ to 3 wonderful kids, before taking her first role at Gordon Mortgage Solutions.
Her role has developed over her time in the business and she now personally manages every client’s application from submission through to completion. She is the face and the voice of the business to most clients, holding their hand throughout the process, offering help and support, whilst providing regular updates on progress.
She is the ‘go to’ person for most clients. Her knowledge, experience and customer service skills takes all of the worry and stress out of the process for our clients.
In her spare time she has a passion for the theatre and has been a member of Port Sunlight Players for more years than she’ll admit to! She has recently taken the role of Treasurer on committee having been the Secretary for the last few years. She can regularly be seen at the theatre either on the stage singing & dancing or working backstage supporting the performance. She also has a passion for singing and is a member of the ‘Over the Water’ community choir.
Ross (Mortgage & Protection Paraplanner)
Becoming the 3rd generation of Gordon in the business, Ross joined the family business officially in 2020 having graduated with a Business & Management degree in the same year. It was working with us on a part-time basis during his student years that gave him an insight into the industry and where his passion for property began. He completed his CeMap exams to become a qualified Mortgage Adviser and took up the key role of Paraplanner supporting his Dad with all of our mortgage & protection clients.
He has a keen eye for detail and a real desire to ensure that our clients understand all of the options that they have available to them. He currently is the key ‘unsung’ member of the team completing all of the research and writing most of the client reports that his Dad takes the credit for!
Away from work his main interests also revolve around sport. He plays hockey for Neston 1st Team, has recently developed a keen interest in golf and when he has the opportunity loves walking particularly in Snowdonia. On the negative side he also still insists on punishing himself watching Everton whenever he can!
